Tim Lutkin

Tim is an Olivier award-winning lighting designer whose work features in productions ranging from the West End and the United Kingdom, to arena tours, large-scale events, theme parks, musicals and shows around the world. He has also worked extensively with video & projection and magic & illusions.

Tim's current work can be seen in Coriolanus at the National Theatre.

His recent West End production of Life of Pi won an Olivier and UK Theatre award and has transferred to Broadway. His recent West End production of Back to the Future won a Whats on Stage Award, and  transferred to Broadway.

His other West End productions include: The Crucible (transfer from the NT), Lungs (transfer from The Old Vic),  Four Quartets, Fiddler on the Roof, Four Quartets, Big, Noises Off, Strangers on a Train (Whats on Stage Award), The Full Monty, and notably Chimerca, where his spectacular design earned him an Olivier.

He has also worked extensively with The National Theatre, RSC The Old Vic and Almeida. These productions include: Women Beware the Devil, Jack Absolute Flies Again, A Number, Under Milk Wood, Anthony and Cleopatra, Salome and Le Blancs. Timon of Athens, Candide, All’s Well That End’s Well, Present Laughter, The Crucible, Faith Healer, Macbeth.

His magic shows include: David Blaine Live (Eventim Apollo and National Arena Tour), Dynamo Live - Seeing Is Believing (Hammersmith Apollo and World Arena Tour).

In working for Walt Disney Imagineering Parks and Resorts he produced: The Lion King - Rhythm of The Pride Lands (Frontierland Theatre, Disneyland Park), Mickey & The Magician (Animagique Theatre, Walt Disney Studios Park); Marvel Superheroes United.
