Nicolas Vaudelet

Nicolas Vaudelet has learned his trade with fashion and haute-couture’s biggest names: Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior (John Galliano), Louis Vuitton (Marc Jacobs), Givenchy (Alexander McQueen, Julian MacDonald), Sonia Rykiel and Jean Paul Gaultier.

With the latter, he participated in the design and costume creation of Madonna’s Confession Tour and of flamenco dancer Joaquin Cortes.

After a rich experience in Sevilla, Spain, as artistic director of century-old El Caballo, where he obtained in 2009 the L’Oréal Prize for best collection, he created the costumes for Spain’s National Ballet. For this work, he was named « Best Costume Designer » at the Max Awards in 2014.

That same year, he met the world-renowned stage director Franco Dragone. He created over 600 costumes for the Paris cabaret Lido, for the Russian singer Philipp Kirkorov at Moscow’s Kremlin, the Dai Show in XiShuangBanna, China, and the park/hotel Rixos World in Turkey. This period showed Nicolas’ penchant for creating costumes for the stage.

Starting in 2017, he pursued such work in Canada for Scéno-Plus for a MGM show in Macau, China. He also worked with Cirque du Soleil, where he created the costumes for many productions, including: Helene Fischer Tour 2017-2018, the ice show Axel and the upcoming Under the Same Sky big top show and 50th National Show / UAE, both directed by Es Devlin.
